The Centre
Casa Sperantei is a Christian charity that has worked with underpriveliged children and young people in several Romanian villages since 2005. It has;
- Provided educational resources and play equipment to local schools
- Supplied transportation for local school children in the villages
- Provided a recreational area for children to play safely
- Supplied and distributed hundreds of Christmas shoe boxes to children in the local villages
- Provided days out and residentials for children who have never been outside of their local area

I am optimistic that individual donations and sponsorship from businesses in the local community will raise £7,000 to help build a new family centre for Casa Sperantei, a charity providing educational opportunities and safe recreational space for 5 to 16 year olds.
Casa Sperantei, which is run by my parents Bob and Edith, is in need of larger, better equipped facilities as the local children currently attend classes and activities in the McDonald’s living room!

The new centre, in the rural village of Sardu, will act as focal point for the whole community; housing dedicated space for kids’ clubs, craft workshops, literacy and numeracy classes, group sessions and improved outside play space. As well as offering private counselling rooms the centre will accommodate a family support service and health education information point.
Casa Sperantei has also supported the wider community through;
- Providing medical assistance to villagers
- Delivering food parcels & house maintenance to the poorest villagers
- Supplying seeds and lending land for subsistence farmers to grow maize crops on.

The new centre will include;
- A large enough area for more children and young people to play,
learn & develop.
- A counselling room / facility, for those affected by alcoholism to be
treated
- An area for various groups; health information point, family
support service & parent & toddler groups etc.
